Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2020 Flambeaux Rosé sings in the glass with bright rose petal and watermelon. Mouthwatering acidity and notes of strawberry and lemongrass with some dense yet airy palate weight. The finish begs for another sip—so why not?
Vineyard Profile
High in the steep, iron-rich hills surrounding Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley, the Flambeaux Estate Vineyard and Toby Lane Vineyard produce vines with smaller berries, thicker skins, and concentrated juice. Cool evening temperatures and thin soils contribute to the signature complexity of the finished wine.
Production Notes
Sonoma County rainfall totals in the winter were lighter than average, but we had a wonderful growing season, with clusters developing at a slow and measured pace throughout. As we reached veraison —when the berries turn from green to purple—we experienced the fires of 2020. Flambeaux Wine was lucky in that the smoke was South of us with the winds pushing it further south for most of the time, so we were able to harvest our grapes. Many other of our friends were adversely affected, and our hearts go out to those impacted in this crazy year.
Winemaker Notes
Like so many events of 2020, this vintage of Flambeaux Rosé took a new direction. In the past, the Estate Zin provided a really fruity component while the Alexander Valley Cab provided structure. But this year, the Cabernet Sauvignon component took the more fruit-forward and juicy role with the Zin remained structured and firm in its presence. The resulting wine fits nicely with the style of Rosé that we have made in the past and look to continue to make—one with bright acidity, some juicy palate weight, and plenty of structure to pair with everything from classic New Orleans fare to fresh California cuisine.—Ryan Prichard, Flambeaux Winemaker
Food Pairing
This Rosé will be a perfect companion to a charcuterie board or a good old-fashioned crawfish boil!

About Flambeaux Wine
Flambeaux are the dancing torchbearers of Mardi Gras night parades. A quintessential symbol of New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition, Flambeaux represent all that we love best about wine—light flickering in a glass, complex flavors dancing across the palate, and a celebration of life.
