Vineyard Spotlight: Sangiacomo Family

Roberts Road Vineyard

Flambeaux Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is grown in two different vineyards owned by the famed Sangiacomo family—Kiser and Roberts Road. The Sangiacomos have been farming grapes in Sonoma County since 1969 and were some of the first farmers to dive headlong into grapegrowing in the area. Over the years, they have consistently produced some of the highest quality grapes that can be found and we are grateful to be working side by side with them.

Situated in the Petaluma Gap, the Sangiacomo's Certified Sustainable (CSWA) Roberts Road vineyard is cooler in temperature than the surrounding region, thanks to the influence of the late-lifting fogs and wind that come barreling in through the Petaluma Gap each day. The block has Dijon clone 95 planted in it—selected due to its ability to get ripe even in the coolest climates. This clone adds the minerality and green apple component to the Flambeaux Sonoma Coast Chardonnay blend.
